Description
Ségla is the second wine of the famous Margaux second growth Château Rauzan-Ségla. More accessible than the first wine, this is does not receive as much new oak, so tannins are riper and smoother making the Ségla ripe and ready for drinking. It is a wine with excellent concentration and poise. Showing fragrant notes of ripe fruits, violets and cedar with beautiful length and delicate tannins. With great structure and balance and a long finish A great example of good value Margaux drinking well now, this wine will also soften further and improve over the next 7-8 years
Segla is the second wine from Chateau Rauzan-Segla, born from the youngest vines of the property. Since 1994, when CHANEL purchased the property, many changes have occurred: renovations of the buildings, the vat room, and even in the vineyard.
An impressive second wine, no doubt because of the serious crop-thinning & modest yields of 36 hl/ha. 47% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon & 6% Cabernet Franc, its exhibits an opaque purple color, outstanding ripeness, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel. Surprisingly dense with sweet tannins & an expansive, pure, perfumed style, it should drink well for a minimum of ten years. Robert Parker, April 2012
