Pecten Fiano Salento wine comes from Salento area, which is a part of Apulia region in the South of Italy. Salento land is rich in history and tradition, and is considered one of the cradles of the worldwide enology.
Le Vigne Di Sammarco which produces this wine is a wine house located in Cellino San Marco, a small rural town in the heart of Salento region. The house is represented by the new generation of Rizzello family, a long established family for now four generations. Today Le Vigne di Sammarco is producing high quality wines widely appreciated. The house owns about 180 hectares of vineyards of which more than 80% is made up of local native grapes varieties (Primitivo, Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera) and 20% others such as Fiano grape variety.
Pecten Fiano Salento is a pleasant and balanced white wine from Salento region located in the South of Italy. It is made from 100% Fiano grapes variety, native of southern Italy. Those are very aromatic grapes that date back to Romains time. It almost disappeared due to low productivity but made a recent come-back. The difficult soil of Salento combined with the cool evening breezes from the Adriatic are perfect conditions for producing complex and aromatic Fiano white grapes.
